What is the Purpose of the PTO?
The primary purpose of the SHSPTO is to foster relations among parents, teachers, students and administrators, and to raise funds for programs and activities that will benefit Serra High School students. Membership is open to parents, teachers and staff of Serra High School, and to anyone who would like to support Serra High School PTO's endeavors.
Your PTO supports the mailing of the Serra Spirit newsletter, plans teacher and staff appreciation events, is instrumental in the packaging and delivery of STAR testing snacks for ~1600 students/day over 8 test days, and provides scholarships for graduating Seniors, etc.
The open enrollment of members is held at the beginning of the school year (look for the information and envelope in your student's back-to-school packet). Answers to such questions as "Why join?", "How do I become a member?", can be found here.
Join the PTO...it's the way to go!
